Nestled along the Arkansas River just six miles south of Buena Vista, The Beach is a wedding and event venue, restaurant, and live music space designed for connection and celebration. Featuring a brand-new indoor/outdoor reception space, a sandy riverside beach, and a live music stage surrounded by mountain views, it’s a place where moments unfold naturally. Come for a concert, a mountain wedding, or a sunset dinner—and stay for the laid-back Colorado energy and unforgettable setting.

Our Story
Rhythms On The River is a two-day, family-friendly music festival on the banks of the Arkansas River in Buena Vista, Colorado. Produced by Camp Coletrain Inc. in partnership with The Beach, the festival brings together exceptional live music, music education, community, and the unmistakable energy of summer in the Arkansas Valley.
The festival was born as a celebration of Camp Coletrain, our annual immersive music camp with nearly a decade of history right here in Buena Vista. All week, students of all ages learn from instructors who are also professional touring musicians. Then Rhythms On The River begins, and those same teachers take the stage alongside an incredible lineup of artists. Watching your instructor perform in front of a crowd is the kind of thing that can inspire a musician of any age to pick up their instrument and never put it down.
In 2027, Rhythms On The River expands to two days, July 15 + 16. Equal parts community celebration and exceptional live music experience, the festival gives locals the opportunity to see remarkable artists right in their own backyard and gives visitors another reason to return to Buena Vista year after year.
This year also marks the launch of a new music competition in partnership with the John Hartford Foundation, with competitions in fiddle, flat-picking guitar, banjo, mandolin, and troubadour. More details, including how to enter, are coming soon.
Camp Coletrain Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to immersive music education through camps, scholarships, festival programming, and rural community initiatives. The nonprofit works alongside Coletrain Music Academy, our community-driven music school with locations in Buena Vista and Salida, to create opportunities for musicians to learn, perform, connect, and be inspired.
Rhythms On The River is a natural extension of that mission. It’s a festival rooted in this place, this river, and this community, built for the people who call the Arkansas Valley home and the ones who keep finding their way back to it.
Our vision is to continue growing Rhythms On The River alongside Camp Coletrain, creating more opportunities for musicians to learn, perform, compete, and connect while helping support scholarships and accessible music education through Camp Coletrain Inc.
